Jesus Knocking at the Door Mural

Jesus said, “I stand at the door and knock.   If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,               I will come in to Him and eat with him and he with Me.”  Revelation 3:20

This painting at the front of the sanctuary is based upon these words of Jesus.  Looking at this scene one little girl asked her father “Did He get in?”

Before I answer that I need to look at the One knocking, see the nail wounds on His hands that tells me He was wounded for my transgressions.  With His stripes I am healed.  I need to look at the door.  Notice how branches and vines are starting to cover it.  They tell me that I cannot open my heart - I cannot prune them away.

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you.”

John 15:16.   That tells me that Jesus is not only the One who knocks but opens my heart.  Why does He knock.  He wants to eat with me, to share with me His pardon, peace and promise of heaven.  We invite you to join us in praying, “Come Lord Jesus, be our guest.”
